CBEC extends last date of filing service tax returns to January 6

CBEC extends last date of filing service tax returns to January 6: The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) has extended the last date for submission of half-yearly service tax returns by ten days to January 6, as assessees were facing problems in e-filing of returns. "Central Board of Excise and Customs hereby extends the date of submission of half yearly return for the period April 2011 to September 2011, from December 26, 2011 to January 6, 2012," CBEC said in a notification today.
